Maintenance required light?
Providencia Serpe: that light is "oil change light"....so basically it just comes on every 3k or 5k miles depending on what it is set at....most likely it wasn't reset at proper time the last time u change the oil......owners manual will tell u how to reset it.......or u can call dealer and ask.......** if u posted year/make/model might b able to tell u how to reset it......** most GM cars either have it in settings or u press gas pedal 3-5 times with key in run position then turn key off........Show more
Hyo Hardell: Tell me what kind of car it is i.e. year, make, model? and I can tellyou when your next maint. is and how to shut the light off.
Mickey Isle: I assume we're talking about a honda or acura here,if that is the case it's just saying the vehicle is due for service. The car doesn't know when you changed the oil or anything else for that matter. It just comes on at a certain mileage until it's reset. You can check your owners manual for the reset procedur! e or try this. With the key off push and hold the odometer reset button, now while still holding it down turn the key to the on position hold the button for 5-10 seconds til the maintenance lights starts to blink, release it then hold it back down for another 5-10 seconds til it resets...Show more
Nannie Kasee: after you reach the last service interval, you should continue the services as stated in the owners manual (every 10k or so km) not just change the oil every now and then, to know what is causing your service light to come on you need to scan your car with an automotive code reader. that should put you in the right path to solve your problem.
