What makes a great tuner car?
Chris Coggins: 200 Horse power with a twin turbo you can get them over 300
Anibal Katayama: the ability to improve power by a lot without having to change much of the rest of the car. if you want to do a small or medium power upgrade to your engine but also have to upgrade the clutch, gearbox, driveshaft and differential then it might not be worth the power upgrade. a good tuner car is one that can get a lot of modifications without requiring other upgrades. on the extreme side, this doesn't really matter because eventually everything is replaced but it makes things easier when you can do a bit of an extreme build at a time. these cars also have rear or all wheel drive. this is much better than front wheel drive to help put the power down. when a car accelerates quickly, its center of gravity moves towards the rear of the car. on a front wheel drive car this means a loss of grip (grip is given by increasing either the grippyness of the tires on the surface, the wei! ght on the tires or both) if you have enough power to get wheelspin then you want the most grip possible when accelerating. rear wheel and all wheel drive help with grip under heavy acceleration....Show more
