Is teaching a good profession?

Marylee Lucks: I decided to go into teaching because I got so much out of tutoring. I feed off of the energy kids have. I can walk into my field experience in a bad mood and walk out with a smile from ear to ear. But at times, being in an education program is really taxing. You have to be up so you're at the school at 7 am after you stayed up all night working on homework. And there are some stubborn kids that make me wonder, at times, why I'm in a teacher prep program. But it all goes back to that feeling the kids that really do want to learn make me feel. And I know I'm not anyone with experience other than student teaching, but I hope it helps :)...Show more
