But in order for you take obtain a M1 motorcycle license, you will be required to take a CHP approved basic rider course. The California Motorcycle Safety Foundation website says: "All riders in California under 21 years of age must successfully complete this course to obtain a motorcycle license or endorsement...The Basic RiderCourse is aimed at beginning riders of all ages 15 1/2 or older. To take this course, you must present a valid driver’s license, learner’s permit, or a certificate showing completion of classroom portion of driver’s education. Jose Calaycay: You must pass a State Approved Motorcycle Safety Course, the course requires no permit from the Ca. DMV, you pay the fee (around $250) and they give you a certificate to present to the DMV. You will need at have a Driver's Permit to submit to get your regular driver's License as the motorcycle part is an 'Endorsement ' on your license.
