best way to clean makeup brushes if you don't have mac brush cleaner?

Luke Gacusan: Baby shampoo!! It is very genital on your brushes and cleans the brushes the same way the mac cleaner does..

Mauro Cowee: Take a new clean sponge and wet it, add a gentle shampoo such as a baby shampoo and rub the brushes on the sponge. Keep rinsing the brushes and the sponge until the brush runs clean under water. Try not to get water on the metal part of the brush but a little wont hurt :D

Fannie Collingwood: I clean my makeup brushes like in this video. It works SO good too! Heres the link...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vVdciJkmb7o

An Cardine: baby shampoo works.the little johnsons stuff.but you could just find like old jeans and brush it on your jeans until its clean.it doesnt take that long depending on what you used on your brush.

Tricia Dossous: Baby Shampoo!!!Like someone said before Baby Shampoo works just like the brush cleaners. It is actually the next best thing, since it's gentle it wont ruin them. DONT use antibacteria! l cleaner, that will just ruin your brushes, I did it once when i knew nothing about makeup and such and completely ruined mine (good thing i didnt have any expensive brushes then :P)Anyways, baby shampoo will do the trick just like a brush cleaner. I went to a different country for vacation and forgot to bring my cleaner with me, so i just bought baby shampoo and my brushes where the same as with a cleaner...Show more

Ariel Arons: Tea Tree Cleanser from the body shop :) but baby shampoo is all good too.

Alonso Crehan: A combination of vegetable oil with antibacterial hand soap should do the trick (I learned this from the talented Michelle Phan); mix your brush in both and then rinse it off with warm-to-hot tap water, let them air dry overnight. Also, your facial cleanser works and a bonus is that if any happens to stay on the brush, you know you won't have any adverse reactions. If you have very oily skin, though, and your cleanser tends to be drying, stick wit! h my first suggestion because otherwise the bristles will be s! tripped of their natural softness.Good luck! Jeremy Donohue: just use cold water put it gently work bristles, like your hair squeeze easy getting water out, blow dry with hair dryer on cold setting, then set it sun for about ten mins.,don't use for hour or so

Corrina Faro: I bought my brushes from MAC and they told me to use baby shampoo.
