References for a job?
Pamela Meno: A good character reference can take the place of the one thats away. As long as its not family it should be enough.
Theresia Fashaw: Ask the employer is they need that thrid reference and explain that one of your references is out of the country. If they insist on a third, use a coworker. Not all references need to be managers. The potential employer needs at least 1 or 2 references that were your manager/supervisor but that doesn't mean they all have to be. Ask a former coworker to be a reference.
Davina Shindler: Don't list your current employer as a reference if you haven't informed them. Most applications will ask you if it is ok to contact current employer. As for the references, I would suggest sending 3 personal, and 3 business. This will cover all of your bases, and show that you can follow directions!!
