What high-paying jobs are in the Humanities?
Joey Mekeel: The biggest problem is the lack of tenure-track jobs for professors of humanities.I would suggest that you consider psychology, which usually requires only one class in statistics besides the university-wide requirements of general education classes in the sciences. You need to go on for a Ph.D. or Psy.D. You can charge $200 per hour in private practice in some large metropolitan areas. You could also consider research careers in politics and related fields. You need an M.A. or Ph.D. in political science or a related field and your job duties are producing research papers for legislative committees. In the right job, you would not become involved in political campaigning, etc. The pay is lower than in psychology, but it is certainly sufficient to support a family comfortably....Show more
Kirk Coolbeth: Bartender, housecleaner, teamster. You probably won't go much higher than that. Humanities degrees are pretty worthless. You can use them to get yo! ur foot in the door at a big corporation and climb the ladder.
