Is theater bussiness dying?

I love this site - to be able to link with someone in Moscow is cool.Your question - theatre in the UK does well in the cities, where tourism and higher populations help keep it going, sometimes one show will run for months. There's also grants available for fringe productions, which enables a wider range of theatre to be performed, but competition for this funding is fierce. I live in a rural area (7,000 people) and we have a tiny local theatre, where small companies visit from all over the country, but it bearly breaks even. A few people support it well, but most prefer to be at home with TV or involved with sports or the pub....Show more
