Say an amusement park ride, uh, explodes...?
Idell Mulliniks: There's always that chance you and the baby will be fine. Hence when you didn't know about it - and all worked out well. The risks of excessive physical activity during any part of pregnancy are real - You could lose the baby - it may not even be a huge risk - maybe 3-5% chance - are you willing to take that chance? Normal activities shouldn't be any problem - walking, biking, tennis etc. - - - but any high G or contact sport should be avoided during pregnancy - there are even warnings as you get on the ride. It's your choice, but you may want to be thinking for two - good luck on your decision and congratulations....Show more
Chauncey Williama: It will be a big deal for a while, most parks would have strict regulations for some time as they would take extra precautions. Then it will all be silent until the next roller coaster explodes.
Berry Gilmore: Well, the park would be close for about a week at most, sometimes theyll just close the ride,! but if its really bad they'll close the ride down forever, like the batman and robin chiller. Also the police will want to know the cause of the malfunction if anyone was hurt, if people were killed and the park cannot explain themselves then it will be sued, and shut down, hope this helps, write my name in the citations page!
Lenard Ginyard: The police would be there on the spot and it would be in the newspaper and obvs would be closed down
Terrell Lawman: The ride would be investigated not only by the police but the engineering team and firm that built and engineered the ride. State regulatory committees for amusement parks and fairs, (what they are called is not coming to mind right now...) But each state has a sector that handles these types of things as all rides are inspected by the state yearly before operation. The ride would shut down as would others like it until the investigation was complete and the cause (operator error, guest error, mechanical ma! lfunction of a part) was determined. (If one coaster company ! used the same material or layout on various rides in other parks those rides would shut down as a precaution) The ride would either re-open if deemed safe, repaired however necessary or shut down permanently and removed from the park. Check rideaccidents.com, IAAPA.org or screamscape.com for ideas on what and how often these things happen, along with causes and effects....Show more
Marti Declue: Don't forget the knee jerk new laws and regulations that will be implemented needlessly.
