Tivo Series2 single tuner..... hooking it up.?
Caleb Chapman: If you have a splitter, put one of the splitters outputs to the input of the Motorola box. Take the output of the Motorola box and plug that into the Tivo input. Put the 2nd splitter output to the input of the TV. Use standard TV cable coax for those connections. From the Tivo box use the line out jacks (standard rca type cable) and attach those cables to the "line in" on your TV. So to use the Tivo you'll need the TV set to "line in", to use the TV without a motorola box, you'd just use the standard cable channel choice on your TV. You'll lose some of the channels over 100, but get most of them. You'll be able to watch all the channels through the Tivo. Some of the cable boxes will plug in to the Tivo box and be controlled by the Tivo. Tivo includes a cable for this and you need to tell the Tivo in the settings what box you are using. If the cable provided doesn't work, Tivo provides a small cable with an IR output (looks like a small end of a remote). Plu! g that into the tivo, and place the other end above the cable box where your remote controls it. Tell the Tivo what box you have and test it out. The Tivo will change the Motorola box channels for you....Show more
Clinton Migliori: I understand that you have read how to set up all the connections but here is one better, check out this link from Tivo.com It shows illustrations to connect your Tivo to a cable box so that you can record one channel and watch another channel. It shows how and to what coxail lines to split the connections, where to connect the IR cable, where to run RCA Audio and Video cables. This link is for Watching one channel and recording another: http://customersupport.tivo.com/LaunchContent.aspx...I hope this helps. If you need any further assistance just let me know where you are at with it and I will try to help out further....Show more
