How to avoid switching land-line business phone number when moving ?

Voncile Slaubaugh: This has been an ongoing trend in my area. We are just one notch away from doing it ourselves. We don't subscribe to long distance service anymore. We use the cell phone for that. It's a lot cheaper. I believe that you might be able to subscribe to Internet service only on a land line. Call your phone company. A nati! onal CP service will cost you about $75 a month for 700 minutes. AT&T has rollover, so for us it the best. Verizon also has a good national service. The only disadvantage is that CPs don't work well when we're having hurricanes on the Gulf Coast and always the problem of keeping the cell phone charged. We were out of electricity for six days for Gustav and could only charge with car charger and that was not good because we couldn't get gas. However, save some money. Go for it....Show more
