Looking for a Digital Camcorder?

Jesusita Dykhoff: Their are these nice digital camcorders called HD consumer cameras they are up to 20x to 40x digital zoom.

Charissa Riley: also, Is the Canon Hv20 a nice camcorder?

Isaias Badgley: I feel bad arguing with the previous commenter since he wrote so much, but he is not entirely correct. If HD is something you need, the Canon XH-A1 is exactly what you need. If you do not need HD, get Canon's XL2, which is similar, but is not HD. Both of these cameras are extremely high-quality and look very filmic. Both of these can be captured and edited brilliantly in Final Cut Studio. (The XH-A1 is HD and I cannot promise that Vegas could handle it, but it probably can. I'm just not a Vegas guy.) DO NOT rent/buy the DVX100, the GL2, and certainly not the XL1, as the previous commenter recommended for some unknown reason. All of these cameras are incredibly inferior to the Canon XL2 and the XH-A1, both of which are in your price range, so why bother with even ol! der junk? As the previous commenter said, renting is a very good option if you're only shooting for a few days. If you're shooting for more than a week on this project, buy a camera....Show more

Chanda Wittwer: Definitely go with the Sony DCR-SR200 DV Camcorder (Yahoo! Search it).
